Outlook Treehouse & Lavender Farm

Our mom/sister trip was the best! We stayed in the Outlook treehouse and it was nothing short of beautiful. Nuzzled in the trees, we enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the front deck listening to the birds. The lavender ice cream at the main cafe is also a must!!!

For over 30 years, I have traveled and vacationed with the same group of friends. Needless to say, we have shared many memorable and wonderful experiences. This year, I invited the group to Iowa for a stay at Calyx Creek Lavender & Lodging in the Overlook Treehouse. It was the perfect place to provide a unique and exceptional experience. The Overlook Treehouse not only has a "wow!" factor upon entering, but provided a comfortable space for gathering, games, shared meals and relaxing together in the sauna and "among the trees" out on the decks. Our hosts were responsive to our needs and went above and beyond. In addition to the fabulous onsite events, gift shop and cafe, we were within 15 minutes of many other things to do - a hike around a lake, pickleball, shopping, wineries, breweries and a number of area events. But truly, the best parts of the long weekend were spent right on the farm wandering through the lavender fields, sharing time together in our stunning "home", learning from the harvest volunteers, delighting in lavender ice cream in lavender cones, listening to live music while enjoying delicious wood-fired pizza, and ending our visit with an astounding sound mediation. I highly recommend a stay at Calyx Creek - especially if you want to show out-of-town guests some of the best and most extraordinary Iowa has to offer!
